- Since Christ died to sin once for all, we are dead to sin.
- Since Christ rose from the dead and lives to God, we are alive to God in Him.

- The new song is a song of Christ’s salvation.
- We sing the new song because of the Lord’s wonderful deeds.
- He has worked salvation through Christ.
- He has made known His salvation to the ends of the earth.
